Whether you're fighting to find the perfect stance or a seasoned pro working on a powered pass, carving your first turn or dreaming of cheeky transitions. A day or a week, at home or abroad, indulge yourself in a truly unique clinic where Christian and Karine will devote themselves to your individual needs.

Just a very quick heads up to our 2nd rather spontaneous coaching session in Portland Harbour.

We’re planning to make this a fairly regular event, any weekend when the planets align we’ll be hosting a day. Its well worth the effort, there can’t be many better locations for improving your skills in the UK. The one prerequisite is that you need to be a member of the WPKSC, which cost next to nothing, and you’ll also need a harbour permit, which can be purchased daily or more long term.

For any further info on these brilliant coaching days at this brilliant spot just drop us a line. With the forecast looking good and the tides favourable we contacted WPKSC secretary Mr Randall and he worked his magic, herding cats and gathering a few hopefuls together for a day of glorious kiting and coaching, and a ride or two on some of the new Cabrinha 2012 kit! The two Marks, both sorted their stances, started to scream upwind and added slide turns into the mix. Martin happily claimed the surfboard duck tack, helped along with a healthy dose of tenacity and humour.

We’ve had a lot of interest and requests about putting on an extra clinic week in Soma Bay during September as the original trip filled rather quickly. Well its now official we will be running an extra week of coaching from the 9th to the 16th of September on the heavenly flat water of Soma Bay.

However as it is rather late in the day, to get the best price we will be offering this as clinic only at £330, and ask you to sort out your own travel and accommodation arrangements at the Breakers.

We have all the info for best prices on flights (from the UK) and rooms, as there are some great deals available, so if you are keen, get in touch asap and we’ll point you in the right direction.

If you’re planning to fly in from anywhere else other than the UK, the first day of coaching will be the Saturday 10th.

For more info on the spot, the clinic and the hotel please see the other week’s page and ignore the pricing. http://www.ckperformanceclinics.co.uk/clinics/soma-bay-egypt-16th–23rd-sept/

We recently returned from the Cabrinha Distributor Meeting in Wissant France, buzzing with excitement from all the new kit which will be gracing our shores at the beginning of next month. This Tarifa of the North is certainly windy. Average kite size used was probably 5.5m, admittedly on surfboards but still…. So if you fancy a cheap windy weekend you could do a lot worse than hop on the Chunnel and check out what the other side delivers!

We’ll be adding a gallery very soon in the pics section with some high quality images, but for the moment here is digital proof of some extreme Channel slashing by 3 of the best in the business. On the left you have Mike Raper, Cabrinha Division manager, doing his utmost to impersonate Moses. In the middle you have Albi Rondina, 3rd in PKRA freestyle at the mo, potential pop star and obviously no slouch on a plank. And then last but by no means least you have the legend himself, Mr Pete Cabrinha, enjoying some front side mush and showing us all how to engage a rail.

Soma Bay once again delivered the goods. We had an absolutely cracking week, in a much quieter than normal Soma Bay. Unfortunately it appears that many people are steering clear of Egypt due to what’s been happening. All we can say is that if you want a great kite club and a brilliant Hotel go and let Stefan and his team spoil you at The Breakers.

So 7 days out of 7 with wind. We had it all, cranking small kite weather and blissful 12m learning breezes. The effort on the water was inspiring. Special mentions must go to: Kevin, the Animal, battled through a few ailments, to produce some stunning riding and now needs a container just to carry around all his tricks – just watch out Barcelona, there’ll be some serious wanging going down. Adam arrived a happy kiter and went home a smiling legend. He set a new bench mark for what you can achieve through consolidation, and went home with a veritable box of tricks to show off back in Lancing. Jen was lucky enough to “have access” to Edwin’s 7m and as a result nailed toeside and discovered the joys of voluntary airtime – brilliant. Edwin claimed the chair of air with some massive boosts and kept us entertained with some overpowered c-kite skim boarding. And as for Juan Grande, unhooked raileys will indeed travel well, as will the Woods! Here’s to September….

We couldn’t resist sharing this picture of yet another epic fancy dress night from the last night of our Coche fortnight with our European based group. A splendidly fine effort which certainly entertained the locals enjoying their weekend at the hotel.

On the water we had it all from monster air gybes, huge air, front loops, unhooked raleys, blind, kiteloops, and handlepasses just to name a few of the brilliant achievements. Off the water the commitment continued on the dance floor, with many sterling performances on the Salsa and Merengue front.

Yet another classic in Coche, already looking forward to next year, hasta la proxima!

Year two for the Metallicos clinic in Coche. Once again plenty of action both on and off the water. A couple of the boys must get a mention for their truly South American version of the Wedding Crashers!

On the water we had claimers in everything from Kiteloop o Muerte, to Mbarakaja landings, surface passes from blind, shiftys to wrapped and only Cabrinhas in site!!! Thanks Nati, Diego, Edgardo, Raf, Alfara and Roger for a splendid week en hora Ingles.

Looking forward to our next meeting and seeing what else we can get in the bag.

We have now uploaded the “short” version of our Brazil Clinic video. So if you’d like a reminder of those good times in the sun, or you’d like to see what the rabble got up to, may we suggest preparing yourself a substantial caipirinha to compliment your viewing pleasure. To be honest it’s probably worth it just to see Big Ben’s wipeout at the end – go chalet six. We will put the extended version on our youtube channel. This extended editors cut is for all of you involved in the making of that splendid clinic and for all the spectacular stunts which you so graciously undertook without any prompting from us.

For those of you who are tempted by either our June or September clinics in Soma Bay we’ve posted this little video so you can see what the conditions are like. Foolishly we only have on water action so there is no great give away about the quality of the hotel, or the size of the lunchtime Kiteloop Burgers and Spicy Chips at the kite club. And for those of you who were there, here’s the chance to reclaim those memories of warm flat water, sunshine and wind.

We intend to showcase the efforts of our many guests who join us on our clinics and put up with the banter, encouragement, whooping, bullying and occasional self harm that is a great day on the water. To start proceedings off, this time round we’ll let you admire Sophie. This woman is, if you’ll excuse the expression, totally rad. You’ll no doubt be unsurprised then that her gung-ho attitude can only be a blend of French anti health and safety and the very same disregard for personal welfare picked up whilst living in Glasgow. Sit back and admire a perfect and powered front loop down loop transition, admirably nailed in 25 knots plus during our November Brazil clinic!

A bit of a shameless plug this one, but the wonderful people at http://www.hippy-hippy-shake.com/ sent us off to Brazil with a tub of their amazing super food. Now those of you who have been to Brazil will no doubt question the need for any natural supplements in a country so rich in home-grown super foods. Who hasn’t charged an entire afternoon on the water somewhere in the North East after woofing down a tiny bowl of acai? Well perhaps we ended up just a little to healthy? Ah well, you need something to combat all those caipirinas right? Anyway the point is this stuff is good, makes you feel great and certainly helps keep the winter lurgies away. Well worth a try!
