Just like it used to be, sore arms, bad posture and huge grins. Unhooking may not be for everybody, but for those adventurous types many unhooked tricks are a lot easier than they may appear.
Before you start unhooking you should really be a fully confident kite addict with a decent stance, as this is the root of what’s to follow. Having a moderately good level of fitness will help and appreciating that you need to do this safely is a must!
Possible Course Content:
- Equipment set-up for unhooked kiting
- How to unhook & how to hook in
- Body positions for unhooked
- Kite Positions
- How to ditch power whilst unhooked
- Raleys, jumping, loops
- Landing unhooked, toeside, and blind
- F16’s and Downloops
- Surface passes, dangle pass & powered passes
Once you ditch the pull from the harness, you will need to adopt a new body position to keep control of the power, maintain an edge and still be able to pop and jump. Open up the font of knowledge.
Typically this clinic will include interactive analysis, on the simulator, on the water and from video footage. Your kit will also be scrutinized to ensure that you are not fighting it and that it is set up to perfection. Customised feedback will enable you to not only improve on the day but also give you personal goals to take away and work on.
