Freestyle Heaven Clinic
One of our personal favourite clinic spots, Coche mixes a social and convivial atmosphere, the setting and grounds of the hotel, the Latin vibe with the most amazing flat water to make this a real holiday meets clinic venue. The fact that it is 2 weeks helps!
The Spot
Spot wise Coche is flat water heaven. Whatever you want to learn, Coche makes it easier, although we’d like to still take some of the credit! The wind blows offshore, over a long sandbar, so you’ve got mirror flat to flat water conditions. We teach from an area where its easy to get in and see us due to a slight wind bias, and right next to the boat that we club together on due to the offshore conditions. This means that you don’t have to wait with others but get picked up and brought back to us straight away, saving both time and energy. It’s also a great way to practice your Spanish. We always go in May to catch the Trades at their best. Once again though, we do recommend that you bring a full quiver. The mornings are lighter than the afternoons so it’s not unusual to use a 12m and an 8m on the same day.
There is nothing better than a windy day of progress, generally followed up by happy hour sundowners in the pool. If you’re really lucky you might even get a pump aqua class from Serge.
The Hotel
Accommodation is all-inclusive at the Coche Speed Paradise. Set on the beach a 2 minute walk from the kite club, with 2 pools and plenty of local wildlife, iguanas and parrots. The rooms are chalet style and all have a fridge. Facilities include gym, pool-side bar and wifi around the reception Churatta. There is an option to have single supplement and superior rooms (poa). Whatever you go for you’ll no doubt get your monies worth in Rum. For the more discerning amongst you wine is also included.
The Clinic
12 Full on Days of coaching with Demos, Theory & Simulation, and Video Analysis.
The spot is ideal for learning everything but waveriding. That said if you have a good imagination we can do that too!
So as well as all the jumping tricks and transitions, if you’re keen to get into popping, unhooking and even the world of handle-passing, this is the clinic for you. We will give you a rest day from coaching half way through the trip!
The way it works
In short we’ll take care of everything land based: transfers, hotel and clinic whilst you must book your own flight. The advantage being that you can pay the flight with a card, and the sooner you book, potentially the cheaper it will be.
Cost
The land based cost for 14 nights sharing a twin standard room, all inclusive, airport transfers, and 12 days of coaching: £1010
Partners are more than welcome and a non-clinic price is available on request. Single supplement and superior rooms available.
The only extra cost will be for the rescue boat and storage, which will be around £90 each for the fortnight, which you can pay locally.
To reserve your place we’ll need a £250 deposit and you need to book your flight. The remainder will be payable by the beginning of April 2011.
Travel Info
If you are traveling from the UK the flight to take is Air France London – Porlamar. Which stops in Paris and Caracas (where you change to Aserca Airlines for Caracas – Porlamar), departing 30.04.11 returning 14.05.11. At the moment the cost all the way through and back on the Air France website is £776. So if you are quick to book that is a brilliant £1786 all in for 2 weeks. From Porlamar it’s a short transfer to the boat and then a 20 minute crossing to the hotel on Coche.
One good bit of news is that Air France have once again changed their baggage policy, but in our favor. If your bag is less than 2m long and ways no more than 23kg it’s considered part of your 1 bag allowance. If you need another bag it’ll cost £47 as they offer a 20% discount when you book on line.
Should you wish to book with another airline we can book Caracas – Porlamar return flights with the hotel.
